BLOOD DRIVE
Mrs. Hunter and her high school Leadership Class are putting on a blood drive on Wednesday, December 15th from noon until 6 p.m. The Blood Drive is not only about donating blood to save lives; it is also being put on in memory of Anthony Alvin and to raise money for a scholarship in his name. The Leadership Class has invited our class to get involved in this service project.
Our class met with the Leadership class on Wednesday, December 1st, to discuss our participation in the event. The role of our class is to help advertise for the event by putting up posters and handing out brochures. We have also set a goal to sign up TWO people each to donate blood. Each student will have a sign up sheet where he/she can sign up two or more people. Please help him/her find participants willing to donate blood. If the Leadership Class can sign up 101 or more people, they will receive the $1000 scholarship to give in Anthony’s name.
On the sign up sheet, you will notice x’s through some of the times. That means that timeslot is full. There is no timeline for signing up participants, but we are going to check each morning to see who found someone to sign up. Walk-ins are also welcome at any time if none of the times work for you or the people willing to donate.
There will also be food, snacks, and beverages at the blood drive for those giving blood. We will be taking donations of baked goods, treats, desserts, etc. for the food table. If you would be willing to provide a treat for the event, please return the attached sheet by Wednesday, December 8th. You can send the treat in with your child on Wednesday, December 15th.
Thank you for helping out in any way that you can! If you have any questions please email, send a note, or call.
